Ixtapa is a modern, master-planned resort development with luxurious hotels, fine restaurants and world class-golf. In contrast, Zihuatanejo is a quiet, more traditional Mexican village with authentic old-world charm.

What to See & Do While In Ixtapa!

Ixtapa boasts two meticulously maintained world-class courses. Located at opposite ends of Ixtapa's hotel zone, each course is within walking distance, or just a short taxi ride from the beachfront resorts

The Palma Golf Course
Designed by Robert Trent Jones. A beautiful 18-hole championship course that sits along the coast

The Marina Ixtapa Course
Designed by Robert Von Hagge, this course is very challenging with its many water hazards, rolling terrain, and sand traps. Many canals run through its dune-style topography.

Known as a Mecca for anglers, sailfish up to 175 lbs are the primary game most of the year. Black Marlin range from 275-400 lbs. More species like high flying roosterfish, wahoo, barracuda, and spanish mackerel stay closer to shore. Stroll along the Paseo del Pescador in Zihuatanejo and watch local fishermen returning from sea with their catch.

Abundant and colorful sea life await your discovery, ranging from from seahorses to humpback whales and hundreds of species in-between. Fifty two dive sites are categorized for beginner, intermediate and expert divers. Because of the two converging ocean current here, sea life is incredibly rich. Visibility ranges from 100-150 ft and the water is over 80 degrees.
